Sheep herding and the wool industry have deep roots in Oregon. As part of this history, Jeanne Carver with her late husband Dan, owned and operated the Imperial Stock Ranch since the 1980s. Just a few short years later, the American wool industry began to collapse due to offshoring. They were ranching with a focus on stewardship and innovative approaches to sustainability and now reimagined the marketing of wool taking it direct-to-market, later scaling their efforts with the founding of Shaniko Wool Company. Learn more about the cutting-edge of American wool today and Jeanne’s mission to achieve high quality products while caring for the High Desert landscape.
