COIC Board Volunteers Sought

The Board County of Commissioners (BOCC) is accepting applications from Deschutes County residents who are interested in serving on the Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council (COIC) Board. The individual appointed to the volunteer position will represent the unemployed and underemployed sectors of the community and focus on workforce development.

The COIC is a Council of Governments that provides services to Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson counties, the cities of Bend, Culver, La Pine, Madras, Metolius, Prineville, Redmond and Sisters, as well as the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. The COIC Board includes 12 elected officials and 5 appointed members who oversee the strategic direction of the council.

The BOCC is looking for someone with professional experience in teaching, higher education, alternative education, or employment training programs. While previous board experience is not required, applicants must commit to serving on the board for a two-year term.

The COIC Board meets on the first Thursday of each month from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Redmond. For additional information, please call Deschutes County Administration at (541) 388-6572.
