Prineville will host a unique memorial display at the Town Plaza and Courthouse lawn from Saturday, September 7th through Saturday, September 14th. This display will feature not only canvas prints, a police officer memorial, a flag of hero’s, but also original newspapers from the day of the tragic event and 2977 flags representing the lives lost in the 9/11 attacks.

Roland and Mona Glade, who moved to Prineville in 2016, will share this display with the community. Chuck Pore was a Lake County Deputy Sheriff and a true American Patriot. This display was one of his passions, and since the 10th anniversary of 9/11, Chuck created and presented this on the Courthouse lawn every year in Lakeview, Oregon. Roland and Mona, along with others, would help out with this event every year. Chuck passed away on his 65th birthday in 2020. His wife Jenn, gifted the Glades with Chucks project.
Roland and Mona are all too familiar with Volunteers and first responders. They were both volunteer EMTs and structural firefighters for the Lakeview area for many years until they retired from both. Roland is a retired fire chief for Thomas Creek/Westside RFPD.
The Glades believe it is important to continually bring to the forefront the memory of this tragic event. They consider it a privilege to share this significant historical event with the community. Roland and Mona are grateful for the generous support and sponsorship provided by Prineville Mid Oregon Personnel.
